Prof. Shai Efrati is the director of the Sagol Center for hyperbaric medicine and research at Assaf-Harofeh Medical Center in Israel. The center, under Prof. Efrati’s management, has become the largest, busiest hyperbaric center worldwide, currently treating more than 120 patients per day. Prof. Efrati is leading a comprehensive research program focusing on neuroplasticity/rejuvenation of damage brain tissue using of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). At first clinical studies it was proven that HBOT can induce neuroplasticity and recover post stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury even years after the acute insult. The important clinical findings gained from the research program have led to the fruitful cooperation of a multidiscipline team aiming to prove that “Reverse Aging” (taking biology back in time) is indeed feasible.
