Yair Bar-Haim is Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University, director of the University’s Adler Center for Development and Psychopathology and the Laboratory for Research on Anxiety and Trauma. Prof. Bar-Haim’s research focuses on emotional, cognitive, neural, and genetic mechanisms underlying anxiety and anxiety disorders, with a particular emphasis on social anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder. His primary goal is on translation of basic science into effective evidence-based therapies and prevention programs for anxiety and stress-related disorders. Prof. Bar-Haim’s computerized intervention protocols, which were developed in close collaboration with the NIH are currently implemented in more than 50 clinical and research sites around the globe. His PTSD prevention protocols developed in collaboration with the IDF and the US Army are currently being implemented in the entire combat maneuver component of the IDF.
